The soul of individual music is shaped by its surroundings. MAR DE GRISES capture the essence of their extremely contrasting Chilean homelands from the fires of the volcanic north, through the world's driest desert Atacama, along the majestic Andes mountains to the icy Antarctic waves washing against the southern shores and the Pacific breakers beating its coasts. All of these landscapes are present in the tidal melodies and urgent rhythms of "Streams Inwards". When MAR DE GRISES ("Sea of Grays") was formed in the year 2000 in Santiago de Chile, its members gathered to put their deepest emotions into songs. Their debut "The Tatterdemalion Express" (2004) immediately gained the band immediate international recognition and its unique and graceful soundscapes are still referred to as one of the most important Doom Metal releases of the last few years. Their second album "Draining the Waterheart" (2008) was showered with highest praises from critics and fans alike and saw the band touring across Europe. Now MAR DE GRISES are joining forces with Season of Mist and return with their third masterpiece "Streams Inwards". While maintaining their trademark elements like wide and dark soundscapes as well as harsh Death grunts the Chileans have clearly become more accessible and precise in their songwriting. Follow "Streams Inwards" on a spiralling journey of beauty, melancholy and pain!
