Formed in Baltimore in 2001, MISERY INDEX have built a quarter-century career fusing death metal and grindcore with pointed social commentary. The lineup, unchanged since 2010, brings together members with ties to Dying Fetus and Pig Destroyer, and has carried the band through seven albums and roughly 1,500 shows across 46 countries.
"Feral Future" marks Misery Index's first new music in four years and their return to Season of Mist, the label that released The Killing Gods and Rituals of Power before the band's stint at Century Media. The track picks up the band's recurring preoccupations: authoritarian control, manufactured consent, and the refusal to submit to inherited doctrine.
