More information about The Regeneration Itinerary
Season of Mist is proud to announce the release of The Regeneration Itinerary, the highly anticipated new album from Finnish symphonic black metal visionaries …AND OCEANS. Out this Friday, May 23, the album sees the band refine their sound into a cinematic and cerebral journey of contrasts—where philosophy meets fire, chaos dissolves into form, and transformation unfolds track by track.
Thirty years into their serpentine career, …AND OCEANS have assembled a body of work that absorbs the band’s entire lineage—from the avant-garde eruptions of A.M.G.O.D. to the majestic fury of Cosmic World Mother. With The Regeneration Itinerary, they synthesize those disparate identities into a seamless whole. From the trance-inducing intensity of opener “Inertiae” to the meditative catharsis of “The Terminal Filter,” the album is a dance of duality: body and spirit, destruction and rebirth, copper and mercury.
Vocalist Mathias Lillmåns channels these metaphysical themes into a labyrinthine narrative, drawing inspiration from alchemical symbolism and the interplay between light and shadow. Guitarists Timo Kontio and Teemu Saari, bassist Pyry Hanski, keyboardist Antti Simonen, and drummer Kauko Kuusisalo further flesh out the vision with layered textures and frenetic precision—anchored by the visceral production of Juho Räihä and the finishing touch of Tore Stjerna’s mix and master at Necromorbus Studio.
The Regeneration Itinerary is out May 23rd on Season of Mist.
