More information about Sceaduhelm

CRIPPLED BLACK PHOENIX share the full album stream of Sceaduhelm, their new record on Season of Mist. The album officially releases tomorrow, Friday 17 April 2026, across all platforms. Spanning twelve tracks and just over sixty-six minutes, Sceaduhelm is the band’s most inward-facing and austere work to date, turning away from collective upheaval to examine emotional erosion, fatigue, and private collapse.

Where previous Crippled Black Phoenix records addressed historical violence and societal fracture, Sceaduhelm moves inward, listening to what accumulates in the aftermath: grief, complicity, damaged intimacy, and the weight of endurance. The album unfolds as a unified psychological space rather than a traditional concept record, with slow builds, minimalist repetition, and unresolved tension carrying as much weight as melody. Vocals are shared between Belinda Kordic, Ryan Patterson, and Justin Storms, each occupying a distinct but aligned emotional register across the album’s twelve tracks.

Sceaduhelm was produced by Justin Greaves, with recording taking place at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire, UK, Kapsylen Studio in Stockholm, Sweden, and House Of Foto in Louisville, Kentucky. The album was mixed by Iver Sandøy at Solslottet Studio in Bergen, Norway, and mastered by Magnus Lindberg in Stockholm. Artwork is by Erebus Art (Thanasis Stratidakis).

Sceaduhelm is out April 17th via Season of Mist.
