More information about Heimferd
Copenhagen-based musician and producer DANHEIM (Reidar Schæfer Olsen) releases “Heimferd”, the lead single from his upcoming album of the same name. Known for blending Nordic folk traditions with atmospheric and Viking-inspired soundscapes, Danheim continues to expand the genre with a sound rooted in heritage and instinct.
“Heimferd” embodies the album’s core essence: a journey not bound by mythological narrative but guided by mood and ancestral memory. The track balances pounding percussive force with restrained, minimalist passages, echoing both primal ritual and quiet introspection. Entirely composed, performed, and produced by Olsen, “Heimferd” resonates with a sense of cultural return: familiar yet distant, grounded yet timeless.
With over one billion streams worldwide and music featured in multiple seasons of Vikings, Danheim has become a defining voice in Nordic folk and Viking-inspired music. The single “Heimferd” offers a glimpse into an album that drifts between storm-driven rhythms and hushed atmospheres, weaving a sonic ritual that honors the past while forging new paths.
