Progressive black metal visionaries DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT unveil a new live video for “Xibalba”, recorded on October 4, 2025, at Christuskirche Bochum, Germany, during the closing night of their Innern European release tour. Filmed and edited by Alessandro di Martino, the performance captures the band at their most visceral and transcendent, translating the album’s inner turmoil into an overwhelming live experience of sound and light.

In this rendition, “Xibalba” unfolds as a descent into fear’s architecture—its quiet birth, violent bloom, and eventual dissolution. The live mix and master by Nikita Kamprad amplify every dynamic contour, from the meditative stillness of the opening to the climactic surge of catharsis. On stage, Kamprad (vocals, guitars) leads a formidable touring line-up featuring Tobias Schuler (drums), Alan Noruspur (guitars), and Vincent Padrutt (bass), whose interplay channels both precision and emotional gravity.

Supported by FOH engineer Cedric Demolis and lighting designer Anthony Gluz, the concert transforms the sacred architecture of Christuskirche into a space of introspection and release. The camera work by Sören Löbsinn, Carolin Rähmer, and Pejman Noruspur further enhances this immersion.

Originally featured on Innern, “Xibalba” stands as one of DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT’s most expansive compositions: a meditation on collective dread and the longing to reclaim inner light.
