“Taking the stage at Hellfest meant standing for far more than just a concert, it was about championing a unique artistic vision where the soul of flamenco meets the power of death metal, without compromise.” Impureza notes. “Thank you to everyone who believes in this vision and encourages us to keep pushing the boundaries of our music. A heartfelt thank you to Hellfest for providing such incredible conditions to express our art.”
Alcázares was released last year through Season of Mist. The album spans eleven tracks across themes of medieval siege warfare, religious persecution, black magic, and the fall of Al-Andalus, delivered through a fusion of brutal death metal, flamenco guitar, fretless bass, and orchestral arrangement.

The footage documents IMPUREZA‘s set at one of Europe’s most prominent metal festivals, drawing from the Alcázares album cycle: a concept record that traces the arc of the Spanish Reconquista from 722 to 1492 A.D. The performance brings together the band’s twin pillars of extreme metal and flamenco, with Lionel Cano Muñoz’s Spanish guitar work and Esteban Martín’s guttural delivery rendered here in a live context that foregrounds the visceral weight of the material alongside its Andalusian textures. The set is joined by bailaora flamenca Cécilia Cappozzo, whose presence extends the band’s Iberian identity into the physical realm of flamenco dance.
Live filming by Jérémy Jouaud (Wereal Production), edited by Morgan Armagnac, with photography by Ana Danilović. Alcázares was produced and mixed by Sébastien Camhi at Studio Artmusic, and mastered by Jacob Hansen at Hansen Studios. Orchestration was composed and arranged by Louis Viallet, with additional percussion by Xavier Hamon. Artwork is by Johann Bodin and Xavier Ribeiro, with photography by André Marchand.
