LENG TCH’E Hammer Themselves into Collapse on New Single

Belgian grindcore band LENG TCH’E have released “Hammered into Collapse,” accompanied by an official music video, via Season of Mist. The single marks the band’s first new material since 2017’s Razorgrind, ending a near decade-long silence and serving as the opening move of a new chapter for the group.

“Hammered into Collapse” is built around the image of a parasite that has fed on its host for twenty years without ever being sated, a slow reckoning with wasted time that tightens into a repeated, mechanical refrain: mind turning black, cerebral hijack, neural hijack. The track sets the tone for the EP—Hammered Into Collapse—to follow, which will include another brand-new track: “Voided”.

The single was recorded at Hearse Studio with engineer Lander Cluyse, mixed by Taylor Young at The Pit Recording Studio and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Young’s involvement, known for his work with God’s Hate, Full of Hell and Vitriol, situates the release within a current, heavier-leaning corner of the grind and death metal landscape.

Formed in Ghent in 2001, LENG TCH’E built their name through the mid-2000s with a run of releases on Spew and Relapse Records, including Death by a Thousand Cuts, ManMadePredator, The Process of Elimination and Marasmus. Drummer Sven De Caluwé’s departure in 2007 left the band without any of its founding members. Razorgrind, released in 2017, was widely regarded in grind circles as the band’s strongest work since that transition, and LENG TCH’E have continued to play live in the years since across Europe & the UK.

Two decades in, Leng Tch’e still sound like a band settling a score with time itself.
