Hammered Into Collapse
LENG TCH'E are a Belgian grindcore band from Ghent, active since 2001, and they call their own blend of grindcore, death metal, stoner rock and metalcore ‘razorgrind’. A revolving lineup and a near-decade of silence since 2017's Razorgrind have only sharpened their reputation as survivors of a genre that rarely forgives a long absence.
Hammered into Collapse is the sound of that silence breaking. The title track works through two decades of denial finally curdling into cerebral hijack: time wasted, swallowed, and digested too late. "Voided" pushes the same collapse outward, past the self and into apocalyptic scale, chasing insanity until it devours the sun. Recorded at Hearse Studio with engineer Lander Cluyse, the EP keeps the tight low end and constant tempo whiplash that define razorgrind. It was mixed by Taylor Young, whose recent work with God's Hate, Full of Hell and Vitriol places this release inside the current wave of heavier, more physical US extreme metal, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Two tracks, seven minutes, no filler: a band closing distance on its own catalogue. One continuous collapse, from denial to void.
