UNTITLED WITH DRUMS, the alt-rock quartet from Clermont-Ferrand, France, release the music video for “Matter”, the first single from their forthcoming album Made Flesh. The release marks the official announcement of the album, set for release on August 21, 2026, via Season of Mist.

“Matter” is about the almost irrepressible need to put oneself above everything else, to be the only one who counts. The track locks in hard and doesn’t let up, riff and groove working together with the kind of economy that only comes from a band completely sure of what they’re doing. The vocals deliver the perspective of someone utterly consumed by their own centrality: “I wanna be important / I wanna be my own Sun / I’ve got to be the only one to matter now.” It doesn’t condemn so much as expose; a mirror held up to a reflex most would rather not recognize in themselves.
It’s the first taste of Made Flesh, UNTITLED WITH DRUMS‘ second full-length. Across ten tracks, the album maps a free-flowing, first-person exploration of the human psyche: egocentrism, denial, toxicity, instrumentalized faith, without metaphysical abstraction or easy resolution.
UNTITLED WITH DRUMS formed in Clermont-Ferrand in 2014 and released their debut album, Hollow, in 2020 to widespread coverage across French and international specialist press, including New Noise, CVLT Nation, Rock Hard, and Guitar Part. The record brought them to Hellfest 2022, the Nuits de Fourvière festival opening for the Deftones and Baroness, and London’s Desertfest. Following the symbols EP at the end of 2025, Made Flesh finds the band consolidated as a four-piece, their sound sharpened and their intent more focused than ever.
